Piyatat graduated with an MA in Fine Art from Chelsea College in
2002 after completing a BA in Fine Art at City & Guilds.
Piyatat examines the psychology of places of public leisure and
mass entertainment. His painterly images, which take the whole the
city as their canvas, are flooded with colour and conjure an alternative
place; an uncanny twilight world.
Piyatat says: "This project explores my views and feeling
of cities, of how a city can be isolated, threatening, lonely, peaceful,
alienating, inspiring, and extremely beautiful at the same time.
I created these photographs of active empty spaces for myself, as
a means to discover solitude in the mist of frenetic activity."
