| Mark
was accepted by the Royal College of Art to do an MA in ceramics &
glass having completed a B.A. at Buckinghamshire College in the same
subject.
Mark's glass designs are concerned with breaking away from the
traditional concepts of cut glass. He has developed a technique
of cutting, re-heating and then distorting objects to create these
fascinating and beautiful examples. During the re-heating stage
the cut areas inform the distortion, hence the glass itself ultimately
dictates its own final movements and shape.
In 2003 Mark was the winner of two RSA awards, the Student Design
Award, Homeware section and the Wally Ollins Opportunity Award.
