| Kyoko
moved to England from Japan in 1990. She completed her education here
gaining a B.A. Hons (Fine Art) from Bradford College. Her more recent
exhibitions include New Designers, One Year On, Islington, London,
The Mall Galleries, Craft Potters Shop and Gallery, London and St.
James's Gallery, Bath.
Kyoko is influenced by forms found in the natural world. Through
her pieces Kyoko aims to bring an echo of the outside natural world
into an enclosed environment, in the same way that someone might
take home a pebble from the beach. The surfaces of the objects have
simple patterns and they are designed to be touched. The colours
Kyoko uses, are natural colours found in stones and the patterns
often reflect ripples in the water.
