Having been educated in New Zealand, Alison started carving in
stone in February 1999. She works with a wide variety of stones
creating 'simple abstract forms that explore and endeavour to express
the shape of feelings and the states of being'.
Alison calls herself a 'direct carver by hand', making no maquettes
for her sculptures and working directly into the stone resulting
in almost entirely intuitive pieces. Recent exhibitions include
the Affordable Art Fair, the Summer Exhibition at The Garden Gallery,
Hampshire and Hillier Arboretum also in Hampshire.
